CHANGE.ORG: ¿Una plataforma que refuerza o limita las luchas sociales?
Abstract
The proliferation of online platforms for the establishment of social struggles has opened a new space for the discussion of the advantages and limits of their application. This paper aims to clarify whether these platforms serve only as an instrument to introduce and promote the petitions of social movements, or if they involve the generation of new dynamics in the civil resistance field. After been analyzed the case of the platform Change.org in Ecuador it was found that this tool channels tensions such as the duality between the individual and the collective, the online and the offline, and democratization versus the banalization of social struggles.
