DESARROLLO INTEGRAL EN LA PRIMERA INFANCIA: UNA APROXIMACIÁ“N AL ABORDAJE INTERDISCIPLINARIO

Abstract

The interdisciplinary approach to work with early childhood constitutes an important need in Ecuador. This document shows the development of a project that has evolved over time and whose purpose was to strengthen the capacities of the direct care staff for this age group with approaches, principles, strategies and methodologies that allow comprehensive care. The process involved carrying out a situational diagnosis of some child development centers (CDI) in the city of Quito; then a pedagogical proposal was designed and implemented for teachers, managers and administrative staff; intervention projects were developed to be implemented in each CDI, and the entire process was evaluated. It was an action-research project with a mixed, descriptive, observational and longitudinal cut methodology. Starting from a reality, the proposal sought to overcome some specific problems and strengthen services, improving the knowledge, capacities and abilities of the participants, to generate safe environments that consider the dimensions of law, protection, development, physical and mental health, and the interrelation with the environment.
