Hernán malo y la Facultad "San Gregorio", 1968-1971

This article revisits the figure of Hernán Malo and his academic career at the “San Gregorio” Ecclesiastical Faculty. The Ecuadorian philosopher is located in the context post Second Vatican Council, that meant a deep crisis that involved both the ecclesiastical studies and the priest identity. Student protests and the desire for a university reform bloomed at the late 60s. This article studies the reform movement at the Universidad Central del Ecuador and I draw a link between Malo and the philosopher and socialist politician Manuel Agustín Aguirre. The text concludes with 1971, the year Malo took the office of rector of the PUCE.
